How to brighten up a tired looking face, fake a glow
Lack of sleep or an overworked, over thinking, under rested body can result in our skin looking dull and lifeless. Prime with a light layer of Tired faace to hydrate lacklustre skin, and until you can get some downtime applying a skin illuminating base under your makeup will liven things up. A cult classic and favourite of mine is Mac Cosmetics Strobe Cream. This skin illuminating wonder cream is full of beautiful pearl pigments that reflect and add much needed life and glow. Wear it alone or mix a little into your foundation for an instant light reflective complexion boost.
How to fix a tired looking face, less is more
Tired eyes look best with less eye makeup, so instead of trying to add more to conceal the shadows, try applying a brightening concealer to the inner corner and outer corner under the eye and blend using a soft fluffy brush, so as to not drag the skin around the eye. Use any product left on the brush to brush over the eye lids to freshen up and brighten this area too. I like Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer. It has a clever two shades in - one for when you need brightening and one for coverage.
No lower lashes
If you are particularly dark under the eyes then apply mascara to your upper lashes only and avoid any shadow on the lower lash line, thus drawing attention away from the darker under eyes.
A bright lip works wonders for a tired face drawing attention away from tired eyes
Pearly whites
White liner on the water line can look a little stark so to brighten eyes softly, opt for a white with a pearl finish or an ivory/ nude kohl pencil like Chantecaille Brightening Eye Powder Kajal in Nude.
The lip routine for a tired face
A bright lip works wonders for a tired face drawing attention away from tired eyes whilst adding a pop of colour to brighten the skin tone. Favourite’s of mine are Charlotte Tilbury's lipstick in Tell Laura or Benefit Cosmetics Cha Cha Tint and Balm for coral freshness.
